For children in care, relationships are not a luxury; they are a lifeline. A trusted person, a familiar face, a sense of belonging and the ability to maintain important connections can be the foundation that helps a child heal, feel safe and begin to thrive.
But when those relationships are disrupted unnecessarily, the impact can be devastating. Children who have already experienced loss, uncertainty and trauma can face further harm when the importance of all healthy attachment and connection is overlooked.
No child should lose the people who matter to them because the value of relationships, attachment and belonging has not been recognised or protected.

We are campaigning to ensure attachment is recognised as a preventative factor for children in care, and that foster carers are valued, supported and protected as they provide stability, care and help children maintain the relationships that matter most.
